About the Author

Rutu Modan is an Israeli graphic novelist and illustrator. She is best known for her graphic novels Exit Wounds, The Property, and Tunnels. Modan's work has been translated into over twenty languages and has won numerous awards, including the Eisner Award for Best Graphic Novel.

Modan was born in Tel Aviv, Israel, in 1966. She studied at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem. After graduating, she worked as an illustrator for several Israeli newspapers and magazines. In 1995, she published her first graphic novel, Exit Wounds.
