We've all been there. We've all made those rookie mistakes that make us cringe when we look back on them. But it's all part of the learning process, and it's what makes us the seasoned pros we are today.

In this article, we're going to take a look back at some of the things we all did as noobs. We'll laugh at our past selves, and we'll learn from our mistakes. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the cringe-fest.

1. We bought all the gear

When we first started out, we thought we needed all the gear to be successful. We bought the best camera, the best lenses, the best tripod, and the best software. We spent thousands of dollars on gear, and we thought it would make us great photographers.

But the truth is, gear doesn't make the photographer. It's the person behind the camera that matters. You can have the best gear in the world, but if you don't know how to use it, you're not going to get good results.

So don't waste your money on gear. Invest in your education instead. Learn how to use your camera, how to compose a shot, and how to edit your photos. That's what will make you a great photographer, not your gear.

2. We shot in Auto mode

Auto mode is great for beginners. It's easy to use, and it can help you get some decent shots. But if you want to take your photography to the next level, you need to learn how to shoot in manual mode.

Manual mode gives you complete control over your camera's settings. You can adjust the shutter speed, the aperture, and the ISO to get the perfect exposure for your shot. You can also use manual mode to create special effects, such as motion blur or shallow depth of field.

Learning to shoot in manual mode is a bit of a challenge, but it's worth it. Once you master manual mode, you'll be able to take your photography to the next level.

3. We used too much flash

Flash is a great way to add light to a scene, but it can also be very harsh and unflattering. When we first started out, we used flash all the time. We thought it would make our photos look better, but it often made them look worse.

If you're going to use flash, use it sparingly. And be sure to diffuse the flash so that it doesn't create harsh shadows. You can use a flash diffuser, or you can simply bounce the flash off a wall or ceiling.

4. We didn't edit our photos

Editing is an essential part of photography. It allows you to correct exposure problems, adjust colors, and remove unwanted objects from your photos. When we first started out, we didn't edit our photos. We thought they were good enough as they were.

But editing can make a huge difference in the quality of your photos. Even a few simple edits can make your photos look more polished and professional. So don't be afraid to edit your photos. It's one of the best ways to improve your photography.

5. We compared ourselves to others

One of the worst things we can do as noobs is compare ourselves to others. We see other photographers who are more experienced than us, and we start to feel like we're not good enough.

But it's important to remember that everyone starts somewhere. We all have to learn and grow. Just because someone else is more experienced than you doesn't mean you're not good enough. Keep practicing, and you'll eventually reach your goals.

We've all made mistakes as noobs. But that's okay. It's all part of the learning process. The important thing is to learn from our mistakes and keep improving. So don't be afraid to experiment and make mistakes. That's how you'll learn and grow as a photographer.
