Ellen Ochoa is a Mexican-American astronaut, engineer, and former director of the Johnson Space Center. She was the first Hispanic woman to go into space, and she has logged over 1,000 hours in space. She served in this role until 2013, and she was responsible for overseeing the development and operation of the International Space Station.
